Spa Themed Bridal Shower

Spa Themed Bridal Shower

Planning a Spa Themed Shower at home will save you money and the options on what to do are endless! A spa themed shower at home gives you a lot of flexibility and you can plan the day exactly as you please, keeping the bride and her wishes in mind of course!

Here is a list of ideas on how to plan a spa themed shower. From the invitation to food, games, activities and favors, this list will help you get started on planning the perfect spa themed bridal shower.

Invitations:Once you have the location, the guest list and the date set, it’s time to get those invitations out! You can choose to either buy a pack of invitation or make them and print them, you can even send an e-vite for the most affordable option and have it customized to reflect your theme. A few suggestions on what to include:

-Obviously date, time and location!

-Who the shower is for–come up with a cute phrase for this.

-Include something fun like a printed gift certificate that you can make at home. Have it say, “this certificate entitles you to a day of relaxation and fun–services include, a mani-pedi, massage and facial!

-Be sure to include where the bride has registered.

-You may also have special instructions, such as dress code- for example, tell them to wear their favorite robe and slippers or be sure to bring a towel, in case these are things the host will not be able to provide.

Food:The food for a spa theme shower should be simple and on the healthier side. Choose bite size finger sandwiches, fruit salad, salad, cheese and cracker, deli meat, and dips like hummus with pita chips for a really nice and colorful spread.

Drinks:Again, opt for healthy drinks and juices–make them look prettier with cut up fruit like apple and orange slices in a nice clear jug of colorful fruit juice. Also, be sure to have plenty of water with sliced cucumber and lemon to make it feel like a real spa.

Activities:This is the best part of a spa theme bridal shower! For the spa activities, I would recommend setting up stations and appointing one or two people to work each station. The best people to run each station would probably be the bridesmaids, but if you know someone who specializes in any of these areas and is willing to work one of the stations, even better!!

Setting-up the Spa Stations:

-Station 1: Massage Center- Be sure to have plenty of massage oils and relaxing music playing for this, having more than 1 massage table set-up will move things along quicker, especially if there are a lot of guests. Perhaps draping this area off would be a good idea and limit the massage to no more than 20-30 minutes depending on the amount of guests you have.

Station 2:Facial Center-Hopefully you can set this station up somewhere close to a sink. There are many ways to do an at home facial. Start with cleansing your guests face, than steam to open up the pores, apply the mask–one of my favorite and most simple face masks that is typically safe for most skin types is pure honey mixed with the juice of a lemon, apply cucumber slices on the eyes and let the honey mask harden a bit over a period of 10-15 minutes, remove with a warm damp washcloth. Lastly, exfoliate with basic sugar–an excellent exfoliator, which is typically safe for all skin types, but should probably be avoided on sensitive skin or skin that is broken out with acne. Remove the sugar scrub with your fingers by using water and gentle circular motions.

-Station 3:Mani-Pedi Center-For the manicures-set up a couple of tables with a variety of nail polish colors, nail grooming tools, such as files and clippers, nail polish remover and hand lotion. Assign a member of the bridal court to perform the manicures. For the pedicures, start with removing any polish off the guest’s feet. Have them soak their feet in the pedicure bubbles. You can either purchase a spa pedicure from a local drug store or beauty supply store or to save money, set up a couple of large basins and fill with hot water and vibrating bubbles. Next use exfoliator to exfoliate the feet and a foot file to remove dead skin. Rinse off the exfoliator and wash feet, now finish the pedicure by grooming the toes.

There is so much more you can do–imagination and creativity are key when planning a spa theme bridal shower. Don’t forget to send your guests home with Unique Bridal Shower Favors and select from spa theme bridal shower favors to match your event!

Fun Bridal Shower Ideas

Fun Bridal Shower Ideas

Bridal Showers are a great tradition; brides get to celebrate their engagement with their closest friends and family before the chaos of wedding day festivities sets in. While bridal showers can be a fun gathering, the traditional bridal shower ideas can get a bit stale. Here are a few ways to spice up your bridal shower and make sure your guests have a blast:

Gourmet Tasting – Ditch the traditional finger foods and veggie trays, and opt for a gourmet party. Ask guests to bring a gourmet wine, chocolate, cheese or pastry instead of a gift, and host your very own tasting. You can suggest items like chocolate truffles, caviar, foie gras, or brie pastries, and pair them with a gourmet port, a flavored cognac or a fancy champagne. Use your imagination, you can even set a theme and ask guests to dress accordingly.

Co-Ed Shower – Some couples will forgo the engagement party to save guests time and money. One easy way to make up for it is to host a co-ed bridal shower, which includes the groom and other male guests. You can have separate rooms for entertaining or different activities for men and women, or just mix and mingle throughout the day. Co-ed showers are great for grooms, because they have a chance to visit with friends and family they may not see often, and they can be included in the gift registry as well.

Cooking Lessons – Many brides may have anxiety about their new life as a married woman; she may be expected to cook or clean, or take on new responsibilities she isn’t prepared for. One great idea for your bridal shower is to hire a professional chef to give cooking lessons to you and your guests. You may want to spread out into the dining room, or take turns taking lessons, but the best part of a cooking party is that you get to taste your own recipes! You can even set a cooking theme and give wedding shower favors of cheese graters, measuring cups and cookie cutters.

Wedding Prep Shower – Often times, friends and family love to lend a helping hand for your big day, they just don’t know how to, or they can’t set aside the time. Holding a wedding prep shower can be fun, because you can invite your guests to get in on your big day by helping make decorations, create the song list, and organize your table assignments. You may only ask for an hour of their time, or you might play a chick flick, prepare snacks and ask guests about their weddings and most special memories.

Winter Bridal Shower Planning

Winter Bridal Shower Planning

Bridal shower planning is one of those tasks which is extremely polarizing in nature. While some may find it highly fun and rewarding in nature, others get bogged down by the amount of work assigned to them and end up exhausting themselves. It is for this very purpose that a proper planning and checklist is required for the shower organizer’s reference sake. This holds doubly true for winter bridal showers where the climate makes logistics a nightmare and you never know what aspect of your pre-planning may come awry at the last minute. Here is a step by step guide essential for every bridesmaid regarding winter bridal shower planning.

Winter Bridal Shower Planning: Where to begin?

Every bridal shower planning starts with setting the date for the shower. It is always proper to keep the time finalized well before hand, so that you have an excellent idea of what rental locations and food ingredients will be available (if these commodities just so happen to be seasonal that is). Once you have decided upon a certain date, you could gauge how cold it would be on that day, whether (in case it starts snowing in your area) the bridal shower location is accessible for all the guests, will they be able to make it on time and then thinking about the bridal shower ideas that would make the party memorable. At least the basic stage of your winter bridal shower planning is solved as soon as you are done pinning down a date on the calendar for the bridal shower.

The Following Stages of Winter Bridal Shower Planning

Once you are done with the date setting for the shower, next comes preparations for sending the invites and “Save the Date” cards (if any). However, before sending the invitations, you should be clear about some information-

What is the timing of the shower?
Where will the shower be located, if any?
If the shower is located at an out of the way place, instruct the guests on the best route to take to get to the venue on time with the aid of a map (if you are providing your own set of transportation, have it mentioned on the invites)
What is the theme of the shower, if any?
Are the guests required to come wearing anything in particular?
Are the guests supposed to bring corresponding gifts according to the theme of the shower?

Once the details for the invites are decided, invitations are chosen based on the available budget for the shower.

Choosing the perfect winter bridal shower location

Obviously, one aspect which you must consider first and foremost while selecting a location for a winter bridal shower is whether the location is warm enough or not, especially if it is really frigid in your area. A place may be all lovely and oh-so-perfect-o! for a bridal shower but if it does not have any proper functional central heating system, your bride and guests wouldn’t be able to enjoy their shower all that much… what with the constant attempts at trying to avoid turning into popsicles and all.

So see to it that the location is wonderfully heated, either electrically or with a huge fireplace, which is ample for the entire turn over appearing at the shower. Also, see that said location is not vulnerable to getting snowed in, or being rendered inaccessible during a snow storm or a blizzard, or any such seasonal catastrophe.

Choosing the Food and refreshments for the Bridal shower

When you are planning a winter bridal shower, make sure most of the food is something which is served hot and which will keep your guests warm. If it is a winter themed bridal shower, you can come up with white colored dishes, using coconut. You can also serve white colored cocktails like Pina colada and Cosmo. Serve simple cheese dishes like Mac and cheese or any other white colored dishes with sprinkled cheese or coconut to resemble snow.

One of the staples on every winter bridal shower menu happens to be hot soups and broth which make for some delicious appetizers. You could go in for a wide array of soups, basically everything from vegetable to meat based recipes are available for the same. Broth could be derived from cooked portions of beef, chicken, and mutton, the remaining portion of all the aforementioned could later serve as the main courses on the winter bridal shower menu.

For a winter shower, it is also absolutely necessary that you make sure there are portable stoves or some such manner of keeping the food heated constantly as thanks to the climate, there arises a need to reheat the food at the venue itself, just before serving it to the guests.

Winter Bridal Shower Favors

May include something warm and edible like freshly baked cookies, or lovely little favors which promote the romantic imagery of winter like woolen mittens, snow globes, Santa hats with the couples’ initials stitched onto it, et cetera. Plan your favors according to your budget.

Planning a winter bridal shower is not all that different from throwing a regular bridal shower. Everything comes down to just working around the climate, temperature, and the various obstacles posed during the season. But winters can be a beautiful time to celebrate. If done well, your winter bridal shower is sure to be an event to remember for years and years to come. So go ahead and have a magical event for your bride.

Ideas For Your Wedding

Ideas For Your Wedding

When planning a wedding there are so many things to keep track of that is very easy to overlook some of the most essential parts of what is supposed to be the most important day of your life, but may turn out to be a disaster if you are not prepared or if you have not planned enough to account for anything that you may have forgotten about. There are things to consider like flower arrangements, table settings, clothing, a San Antonio wedding DJ, San Antonio wedding DJs, and more. The following are some good tips to help your wedding not only go smoothly but to make it as it should be, one of the most memorable days of your life.

Attire is an important thing to consider to make the themes as cohesive as possible. You may want to consider a theme for the whole affair, whether it is traditional or whether you want to choose your favorite colors or recreated where you met your fiancé, it is important that everyone who is part of the party be dressed in a way that gives the affair continuity and ties it all together. That may include the bride, bridesmaids, groom, ring bearers, servers, bartender, even the priest or official, all of them must look like they belong together at the same event, not like they are a bunch of people dressed differently from different occasions.

Another thing to consider is table arrangements, as it will be very important to know who will be sitting where and who should and who should not be sitting near certain other people. Some people in your family you may already know will not or do not get along if you put them at the same table, so you will most certainly want to separate those people both so that they do not disrupt the occasion or cause a commotion, but also so that they enjoy themselves too while they are part of the affair.

The structure of the events for the occasion is not to be overlooked either, as you will have to decide not only on whether or not you want a traditional wedding but also even if you do want the sequence of events to be traditional, what time you want those events to occur and what the time tables for each event are going to be.

Finding the right photographer who specializes in these kind of photographs is important as well, because you don’t want someone who does not have the technical expertise or someone who does not have the professional experience taking the kind of high quality photographs that will be what you have to remember the event with in all the coming years. Another good idea for photography is to have disposable cameras at each table so that people can take their own pictures throughout the event, as this way you will involve them in the affair and also get some great pictures that you did not see while you were there yourself.

Connor Sullivan recently attended a party with a San Antonio wedding DJ hired for entertainment. He was very impressed by the San Antonio wedding DJs in the area.

Cheap Bridal Shower Favors

Cheap Bridal Shower Favors

As it happens with time, there may come an instance when you have outspent your bridal shower budget on various odds and ends like renting out the bridal shower venue, paying for the catering, the bridal shower cake, and to transport furniture. By the time you arrive at bridal shower favors for the guests, usually the very last aspect of the shower which is taken into consideration during bridal shower planning, only wisps of your shower budget remain. It is for this reason that we provide you with some ideas for cheap bridal shower favors.

Ideas for Cheap Bridal Shower Favors

Ribbon and Laced Candles

You could buy cheap six to seven inch candles and wrap around them ribbons and laces in a diagonal, spiral manner. The color of the ribbon and lace could correspond to the colors of the décor of the bridal shower or wedding venue.

Self Painted Wooden Plaques

Here is another one of those unique bridal shower favors. Purchase unvarnished rectangular blocks of wood (about eight to nine inches long) and start painting it with your favorite water color paints. Once uniformly and consistently painted, take a thinner paintbrush and, pick a contrasting color, start writing messages for the guests on the plaque, neatly, with a firm hand. The messages can be something as simple as “Thank you [Guest’s Name], for coming to our shower to be a part of our joy. Love, [Bride and Groom’s Names]”.

You could hammer a nail into the top of the plaque and tie a pretty ribbon around said nail.

Refrigerator Magnets

You could buy inexpensive, personalized refrigerator magnets, which could be red heart shaped with the wording on it in white.

Homemade Cookies

If anyone is a good baker at home then nothing, absolutely nothing, beats a pack of homemade cookies or gingerbread people. Have them sealed in a vacuum container and give them off to the guests.

Homemade Goodie Bags

One of the other cheap bridal shower favors which you could prepare are little gift bags containing inexpensive but dainty tea coasters, bath soaps, lotions, and thimbles with satin ribbons tied to them.

Bells

You could always give away little metal bells cheap of cost.

Recipes for the Bridal Shower Courses

One of the most marvelously cheap bridal shower favors could be a collection of the recipes of all the bridal shower courses, especially if you prepared the dishes at home. Just type down all the recipes in MS Word. Make a fancy cover image in Photo Shop. Remove prints of each recipe the same number as the expected guest turn out, maybe a little extra to be on the safe r side.  Get the cover and recipes together and have them spiral or cloth bound. If the “recipe booklet” is spiral bound, you could just attach ribbons of the same colors corresponding to the colors at the bridal shower and wedding. If you would prefer you could also type in a message from the prospective bride and groom for the guests and include it at the end of the recipe book.

The role of ribbons, lace and wire in box packaging

You may utilize a lot of ribbons, lace, baby breath, and wire to wrap gift boxes. Usually these fabric materials should match the colors of the wedding or bridal shower but it is alright if they do not do so.

Those were our suggestions on cheap bridal shower favors. Wishing some of them give you some kind of inspiration for your own shower favors!

Budget Wedding Dress Ideas

Budget Wedding Dress Ideas

The bridal gown will be one of the most expensive elements of the entire wedding, but will be well worth it when your guests see the bride enter in an elegant dress and are struck speechless by her grace and beauty. Believe it or not, you can cut costs on the wedding gown without ending up with a final product that is tacky or unattractive. In fact, if you are willing to do the research, this article will help you figure out where to start looking to trim down your dress expenses, but still find the bride a dress that she will cherish forever.

The first thing you will want to do is peruse a number of bridal magazines or boutiques. This can help you get an idea of what you are looking for in your bridal dress. The detailed descriptions in the magazines or the helpful sales staff will leave you equipped with the knowledge and the vocabulary to find the right materials and tools that you will need to craft your own, negotiate with a tailor, or browse boutiques without wasting your time examining dresses that will not interest you.

If the bride has decided to wear a short dress during the ceremony, then consider accessorizing it with a home-made tulle apron. The apron is very simple to construct and even someone with little sewing experience will be able to fashion on that looks fabulous. All you will need are tulle and sewing ribbon, and if you give the clerk at a fabric store the dimensions of the dress, they will be able to help you decide how much material to use in making the apron. Remember, tulle is a very inexpensive fabric, so this will be a great cost saving measure for a piece that would likely tack on another several hundred dollars to your dress’ already weighty price tag.

With the vintage fashions coming back into vogue, purchasing a classic wedding dress will make the bride look very fashionable at a price that will make everyone happy! eBay is a great resource for vintage bridal gown shopping, and you can find some wonderful deals on there. You will need to keep a close eye on the dresses you are interested in, because they could be bought right out from under your nose if you are not very decisive. If you purchase two piece wedding dresses, you can also mix and match to find a combination that the bride enjoys, or accessorize each portion with tulle to achieve your desired style.
